Newtbelly is a little lacking in self-esteem, which can lead to a need to prove himself. He throws himself at challenges, yet often forgets the importance of typical chores. He finds it hard to truly relax and sometimes seems quite tense (yet non-confrontational). Furthermore, he values the opinion of his seniors first, which can lead to nativity in forming his own opinions. though he may think of himself as wise, he's actually very easily controlled by those in power.

Notable experiences

• Mentored by Owlthroat - a particularly strict mentor. Luckily, his eager to please nature made this an ideal pairing - well, to some degree. Owlthroat may not be the best mentor for an already quiet, judgemental, and arrogant apprentice.
• Though he progresses much as a warrior, he doesn't make many friends. Raspberryswirl is the only cat his age who seems to 'tolerate' his nature. At least, that's how he'd describe it.
• Involved in the "It All Falls Down" move.
• Complaining about rebuilding the camp and not having a chance to prove his strength, he's given a stern talking to from Owlthroat. These walls aren’t for nothing Newtbelly, steady yourself pause I want you watching my back when the storm hits That's bound to stick.
• Newtbelly is chosen to mentor Tickpaw, who soon goes missing.
• Newtbelly is appointed as mentor for Silentpaw and Stempaw.
• Owlthroat and Newtbelly are attacked by a fox in the Mourning Ruins - Owlthroat eventually finishes it off. Newtbelly returns with a bite to the shoulder and a gash across his side.
